Founded in 1979 by Abraham Belsky, The Chair Factory is the leading manufacturer and supplier of custom chairs, tables and barstools for the food service industry. The Chair Factory is led today by Zev Belsky, an enthusiastic entrepreneur whose goal is to position the family business as the premier seating source for the architecture and design community.
As part of Belsky’s forward-looking vision for The Chair Factory, he recently opened an elegant 2,500 square-foot gallery at 214 Bowery. The walls of the state-of-the-art showroom are lined with a multitude of wood, metal and aluminum chairs and barstools in every shape and size imaginable.
The Chair Factory manufactures over 200 styles of custom seating in a variety of finishes ranging from wood to metal and an almost endless selection of fabric choices. In addition to custom manufacturing, The Chair Factory is the exclusive USA dealer of Magis Contract, Bonaldo Contract, PSM and Pedrali - Italy's finest contract seating manufacturers, carrying notable designer names such as Daniel Rode, Karim Rashid, and Marco Pocci and Claudio Dondoli.
The Chair Factory’s impressive client roster ranges from upscale residential owners to design professionals and individuals and companies like Amy Sacco of Bette and Lot 61 fame, Anthony Scotto of Fresco by Scotto as well as the iconic Tavern on the Green.
